Why is cyclotron not used to accelerate light charges like electron?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your premise is wrong. Cyclotrons are used to accelerate electrons all the time.

OpenStudy (jamesj):

but also the reason a cyclotron is NOT used to accelerate light, as the question asked, is because light always travels at its maximum velocity. Which is to say, in a vacuum, the speed of light is always constant.
