Shana climbed a set of stairs and stopped on the middle step. She then walked down 2 steps, up 4 steps, and down 3 steps. Finally she walked up 5 steps and was at the top of the stairs. How many steps are in the set of stairs? (1 point)

OpenStudy (cathyangs):

i believe it's 11...

OpenStudy (radar):

from the middle step she went (-2+4-3+5) to the top that equates to 9-5 or 4 steps from the middle step to the top. Wouldn't that mean from the middle there is 4 up and 4 down for a total of 9 steps???? Inquiring minds need to know. lol
