What are some pros with feeding the population vs. conserving Biodiversity? I have to do a debate about the benefits of relying on a few highly productive livestock breeds and crop varieties.

Though I have to keep in mind before the debate of:

1)	Knowing the other side of the argument helps your own argument. (The other argument is: risks of reducing genetic diversity by allowing less productive breeds to become extinct-- conserving biodiversity).
2)	What do the terms “industrial agriculture” and “sustainable agriculture” might mean?
3)	Are you familiar with any breeds of livestock or varieties of crops grown to produce the food you eat?
4)	Can the agricultural industry keep up with the rapid growth of the global human population?
