Try to go in FILE->New window
so you have the python shell open correct?
no just a window for python that prompts yu to type help, copyright, and something else...but no, theres no "file, edit, etc" at the top
i found it, never mind. thank you anyway though!! i had to go into the big download folder, and then into Lib, idlelib, then open one of three docs labeled "idle". The one i used was a windows batch file. This got me the shell C: Once again, thank you guys! I appreciate it
