Find the volume of a square pyramid with a base of 7yd by 9yd and with a height of 7yd

OpenStudy (xishem):

That's not a square pyramid.

OpenStudy (xishem):

Anyway, if the question said "Find the volume of a RECTANGULAR pyramid..." then we would do this. The area of a rectangular pyramid is modeled by the equation...\[A=\frac{1}{3}A_{base}h\]\[A=\frac{1}{3}[(7yd)(9yd)](7yd)=\frac{441}{3}yd^3=147yd^3\]

I need the volume not the area

OpenStudy (xishem):

Sorry. Those equations are for the volume. I just mistakenly put "A" everywhere. The volume is 147yd^3. Just replace the A's on the left side of the equation with V's.

thank you
