If there is a substance's effect: impedes the binding of NAD+ to electrons, would you lose or gain weight and explain why.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

impedes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes impedes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually i m not gettin this word can u xplain so i can help u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like to block.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u ll lose as if Nad+ is block means its cant gain more H+ from PS1 so there will be no phtolysis occur as there will be no H+ carirer

OpenStudy (aravindg):

If NADH cannot be formed, that means that the cell essentially loses out on the 32-34 ATP produced by electron carriers such as NADH. When the body is not receiving enough ATP, it begins to break down fats and other stored energy forms, but these would be less efficient when burned without NADH than with NADH. Thus more fats will be burned to create a lower amount of energy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh so you would just lose weight

OpenStudy (aravindg):

:P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually u know mainly ATP is formed by aerobic respiration but if NAD + is blocked then it start utilising proteins from cell leads to loss in weight.. sorry i typed only half as i have a call dat time :P
