part 1: its not letting me draw my triangle but heres what it would look like:

Big Triangle- DE=10, EF=12, and DF= 8

Little Triangle- AB=5, BC=6, and AC= 4

part 2: the ratio of side AB to side DE is equal to the ratio of side BC to side EF which is equal to the ratio of side AC to side DF

Well, even though that is a valid way of doing it, I would say that proving the triangles similar by showing that the corresponding angles are equal would be a better approach.
