I am new to writing and its not like I cant write or anything, but I would love to get started on a course to learn - i) the art of writing ii) the engineering involved in writing .. I am not looking at writing poems or fiction or anything like that, but some thing like blogs, scripts, plays, technical articles, business writing.. Please help ..
The Internet is great for this type of thing. While a writing class at a local community college will always be beneficial for any type of writing they don't always deal specifically with the types of writing you are looking for. Usually there are specific course for that and it could be expensive if you are not already enrolled as a journalism or similar major. Just do a google search for the type of writing you are ready to start studying and give it a go. You can always post your work or ask questions here if you get stuck or want feedback on something.
Thanks for your response @jagatuba. With the kind of busy work schedule, I feel like taking classes makes it a disciplined and dedicated approach..
Here's a guide on technical writing: http://www.techprose.com/webforms/techwriting_guidelines.pdf I'm scared to give you any of my personal advice. I'm more familiar to writing fiction rather than writing these kinds of things. I found this and read a couple of pages, and I thought it was pretty interesting! Hope this helps!
Oh, by the way, I think the third chapter would help you the most. It's the chapter on styles and usage. :)
please go ahead @Gab02282.. looking at that attachment/pdf right now.. thanks for your input ..
Haha, no thanks. Better safe than sorry, yeah? Good luck. :)
