You should be looking for those supporting ideas in the text, if the thesis is meant to explore the meaning of the story. What happens in the story? How is this idea (that sometimes an item is too valuable to be given a price) gotten across in terms of the action, people's thoughts and reactions, the culmination of the action, and so on.
