OpenStudy (jackman):

x/4 - 3 = 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x/4-3=2 x/4=5 add three to both sides x=20 multiply both sides by 4 to get x alone

OpenStudy (jackman):

Thanks! But I forgot the - sign in front of the 4 (x/-4 -3 =2) would it work the same way?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pretty much... x/-4-3=2 x/-4=5 x=-20
