letF(x)=-2x-7 and g(x)=-4x+3 find (f o g)(-5)

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

replace x in the expression for f(x) with the expression for g(x). i.e. replace x in f(x) with "-4x+3". that will give you (f o g)(x). then work out the value of the resulting expression for x=-5.

i got 3..am i right?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

doesn't look right to me. what expression did you get for (f o g)(x)?
