OpenStudy (anonymous):

If all cells come from pre-existing cells, then all cells must be related. What evidence can you cite to support this statement?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I assume you are talking about eukaryonts. They have similiar a similiar genetic code, which points to a common ancestor in the past... so they are related. In addition mitochondria or other organelles would state as evidence as well.

OpenStudy (blues):

Is the distinction between eukaryotes and prokaryotes necessary in this context? In my opinion, it is not. Similarities in genetic sequence between existent eukaryotes and prokaryotes suggests that they evolved from a common prokaryotic ancestor.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, i only thought about it because some prokaryonts have a slightly different genetic code than eukaryonts..
