Why is 2ATP used in the beginning of glycolysis?? If there is not enough Atp in body, glycolysis cant continue?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Logically your right, no ATP= no glycolysis however we can use fats, amino acids(20 out of our 22) and pass them into the krebs cycle to produce ATP. The reason we need it is that 2 of the investment phase reactions have a positive Gibbs free energy which means it requires energy to build the next reaction. ATP provides that energy to push the reaction forward. these 2 areas also act as a control point to keep the reaction moving forward
