An unfingered guitar string is 0.70 m long and is tuned to play E above middle C (330 Hz). How far from the end of this string must the finger be placed to play B flat above middle C (466 Hz)?

OpenStudy (mani_jha):

\[330=piv/L\] L=0.7. find v. \[466=\pi v/l\] put v and find l.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[f = nv \div2l\] n is the number of nodes, so \[330 = v \div2l\] since n = 1 \[466 = nv \div2l\] l/n gives the answer

OpenStudy (mani_jha):

Oh yeah, sorry i forgot to convert the angular frequency to linear frequency. Thanks for correcting lucifur
