At Euclid High School exactly 1/8 of the students are taking algebra, exactly 1/7 are taking geometry, and exactly 1/25 are taking calculus. Assuming there are fewer than 2500, exactly how many students are in Euclid High School?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2309 I think.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you show some steps?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that the right answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I see. Well, [1/7 + 1/8 + 1/25] * 2500 = 769.64285 But there <2500 students, so I got a number as close as possible to 2500. 769.64 X 3 < 2500 but, 769.64 X 4 > 2500 so, 769.64 X 3 = 2308.9285. Since you can't really have parts of people, you round off to a whole number. => 2309 or 2308.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i see.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I may not be right though. That was just what I thought.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, thanks though. I will check it.
