i respect takura's point of view,but sociology is not only the human interaction with each others surrounding him,it can also be defined as the study of human behaviours and charecteristics as a whole.wht ever the human do in a society as a social animal is studied in sociology..

It is a little more than that.  Sociology is a systematic approach to the study of social interactions and the institutions that make up our everyday social existence.   It is the study of social relations and all problems that may arise out of those interactions, it is a social science and it not just about people.  Things that may seem like common sense may have very well have been debuked by social research
