Or u can save your effort by not expanding, a short cut would be to just subtract the power themselves meaning in this case 
(6*10^-5) / (5 * 10^-8)



$$(6/5) \times \left( 10^{-5-(-8)} \right)$$

why the power is -5-(-8), its because its a division of powers. If its multiplication u add the powers instead.
After doing that u arrive at the answer 
1.2* 10^3 neatly.
