genes on what chromosome determine the sex of child will be male or female

OpenStudy (anonymous):

On the y-chromosome there is a region called SRY (sex determining region Y). It codes for a protein called TDF (testis determining factor) which induces the development of testis and thusly other male sexual characteristics.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.. it is obvious that the sex chromosomes determine the sex of a child (XX = female, XY = male). Sorry, should've read the question more carefully!

OpenStudy (blues):

It's all cool. ;D
