Both triangles are right-angled triangles. Thus u can use Pythagoras theorem to solve the question. If u do not know what the theorem is about, see drawing.. |dw:1329221023919:dw| the theorem states that, the 3 sides are related by the equation. a^2 +b^2 = c^2 Thus back to the question.. DA = sqrt (8^2 + 10^2 ) =12.8 DC = sqrt (8^2 + 12^2) =14.4

@alyn --> Do you need the answers in simplified radical form?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, i do...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need the answers in simplified radical form

Directrix (directrix):

DA = √ 164 = 2 √ 41 DC =4 √ 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

DC^2=BC^2-BD^2 DC^2=144-64 DC^2=80 DC=SQRT(80) AC=AB+BC AC=10+12 AC=22
