Cnidarians typically show an "alternation of generations?" What does that mean? Show alternation of generations with a simple diagram

I am not going to draw the diagram for you, but "alteration of generations" typically means that the organism's life cycle has a haploid phase and a diploid phase which are both extended and quite different from each other. The words "ephyra" and "polyp" come back to me...
