2.25R/(R + 0.5)^2. Find the rate of change when R = 8.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this one is a bit tedious to do its the quotient rule i'll have a look at it on paper

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought i had it but my homework told me wrong, was just going to see what other people got when they solved it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dP / dR =[ (R+0.5)^2 * 2.25 = 2.25R * 2(R + 0.5) ] / (r + 0.5)^4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that equal sign supossed to be a + or -?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh sorry minus ive plugged R=8 into this and got -0.0275

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its quotient rule if y = u/v where u and v are functions of x then dy/dx = [ v du/dx - u dv/dx] / v^2
