For this lab, what would my controlled, dependant and independent variables be?: For this lab I will be focusing on water and it's density, and the differences between regular and salt water. The density of water depends on the dissolved salt content as well as the temperature of the water. salt content of oceans lowers the freezing point by 2 °C. As the surface of salt water begins to freeze, the ice that forms is normally salt free with a density approxequal to that of freshwater ice. The purpose of this lab is To understand why salt water freezes at a lower temperature than plain water

my hypothesis is If when salt is sprinkled on the ice cube,Then it lowers the freezing point below another icecube without the salt sprinkled on it.

Start with the independent variable, which is the one that you choose to affect. Then, consider what sort of data you are trying to find. That data, the thing that you are actively measuring, is the dependent variable. Finally, the controlled variable(s) is what you keep consistent between samples.
