d + q = 110 0.1d + 0.25q = 18.50 I know how to do this, but I want to know how do we work this out if we use 0.1d = 18.50 - 0.25q, then how would be substitute this?

actually from your step - divide both sides by .1 - then you will get d = something. then you can subsitute into the 1st equation

18.50/0.1 and 0.25q/0.1 you mean

and get 1d and then work it out from there
