find the difference of: 9sqrt 7 and sqrt 28

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well first step wld be too simplify the second sqrt which is sqrt(28)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep which is 2 sqrt 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes :)

See we can only subtract or add with sqrts if the inside of the sqrts both have the same number or like variable. Here they are both 7 so we can subtract them. 9sqrt(7)-2sqrt(7) So we would only subtract the coefficeint in front of the sqrt and we wld just leave the sqrt so what wld the answer be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL the guy disappeared hehe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9sqrt(7)-2sqrt(7)=7sqrt(7) Here is the answer if u ever reappear

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep ha I was doing the math lol yep. I got 7 sqrt 7 too:) thankyou very much!
