Explain the importance of the introduction of corn and potatoes to Europe and Asia.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, there are a few different ones. What reasons can you think of? What countries are known for corn or potato use in Europe or Asia?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea Laura!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hogie, I can think of a few different European countries where potatoes are very important. If they didn't have potatoes, what do you think would happen?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They probably would run low on food supplies and die off?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep! It's also pretty inexpensive and easy to grow. The specific country I'm thinking of is Ireland, btw.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So i could say that, potatoes were an inexpensive and a very easy plant to grow for the Europeans, but what should i say about the corn!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, it's in the same vein. They both were important crops.

Alright thanks Laura!
