How do you do Monoatomic Ion Bonding problems?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you give an example, i did not understand what you are asking.

Well, here's the sheet that I'm working on. I'm not sure what the result would be if for example Na and O bond and then Na and N, and so on. How do you do these problems?

In these problems just write the ions one cation one anion side by side Lets take Na and O \[Na ^{+} O ^{2-}\] Now exchange the charge of the ion to the other you get Na2O. Take another example Mg2+ and O2-|dw:1329360349484:dw| You get Mg2O2. Reduce it to lowest cterms you get MgO.
