BIG CALCULUS TEST

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THANK YOU! WHAT ABOUT- 216p^3 + 1225q^3

Directrix (directrix):

15- 5m^2 - 3r^2 + m^2r^2 = 5( 3 - m^2) - r^2 ( 3 - m^2) = [ 3 - m^2] [ 5 - r ^ 2]

Directrix (directrix):

216p^3 + 1225q^3 ---> Factoring patterns again -- looks like sum of two cubes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6? and 10.6998748?

Directrix (directrix):

It would be good to first see if 216 and 1225 have a common factor. They appear not be cubes of integers. We know the pattern for p^3 + q^3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

35^2 = 1225

Directrix (directrix):

216p^3 + 1225q^3 = 6^3 p^3 + cube root (1225) q^3

Directrix (directrix):

(6p + 10.7 q) (36 p^2 - 64.2 pq + 114.5 q^2)
