Why do you think looking for and recognizing patterns, trends, and relationships in data is important? How does recognizing these relationships allow you to make conclusions from an experiment?

If you don't know how to look for trends or use them in data, you'll have a hard time interpreting and understanding that data. And if you can't interpret the data from an experiment, then you really don't know what the experiment showed you. And if you don't know what the experiment showed you, then it was a bit of a waste of time.
