No, because salt dries up things . So adding salt towards the plants roots will only dry the leaves!

Its like you covering the plant with a black or dark bag which is causing the plant to have no sunlight. Without natural nutrients the plant cannot process through its photosynthesis

so .. the salt will interfere with the absorption & the plants will die. or the salt will cause the water to diffuse out of the plants & they will wilt.?
