Is inhaling helium bad for people?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

not really, no

OpenStudy (jamesj):

Helium is inert, so it won't bond with anything in blood in your lungs. So far so good. What is not good is inhaling pure helium stops your lungs being able to take in oxygen. So one lung full is safe, but more gets increasingly riskier.
