Which ratio forms a proportion with 7/8 28/40 21/24 49/64

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Divide 28 by 7 and that's 4. Divide 40 by 8 and that's 5. Therefore, the top and bottom resulting answers aren't the same. Now divide 21 by 7 and that's 3. Divide 24 by 8 and that's 3. Therefore, this forms a proportion of 7/8. Just for the heck of it, let's try the last one. Divide 49 by 7 and that's 7. Divide 64 by 8 and that's 8. Therefore the tope and bottom resulting answers aren't the same and this can't be a proportion of 7/8.

haha just for the heck of it:) thanks

You're welcome. I wish I could come back to math like this :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you just did

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Really... I'm scared to move on

Don't be! Even though it's challenging, you have so many epiphanies. It's like your brain grows!

What you need to do is see how this math is applied. When you get into calculus (and I KNOW you'll take calculus), you'll see how it's applied in physics. Very fun stuff.
