2 identical trains A and B move with equal speeds on parallel tracks along the equator. A moves from east to west and B from west to east. Which train will exert greater force on the tracks?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the force exreted on tracks is only by the wt of trains(vertical direction) so as they are identical then the force exterted mg on them both is same and is directed downward for both of them

OpenStudy (mani_jha):

hey salini, will the fact that the earth is rotating in a particular direction affect the speed of the train?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1329493276887:dw|freacc=gravitational acc-centripetal acc this difference is small and often neglected where mg is actual weight
