What is the factored form of k² + kf – 2f²? (k – 2f)(k + f) (k + 2f)(k – f ) (k + 2f )(k + f) ( k – 2f )(k – f)

OpenStudy (ash2326):

we have \[k^2+kf-2f^2\] let's assume k as a variable and f as a constant we have to find factors of -2f^2 such that their sum is f the factors are 2f and -f so f=2f-f we have \[k^2+k(2f-f)-2f^2\] or \[k^2+2kf-kf-2kf^2\] now let's take common term out \[k(k+2f)-f(k+2f)\] we get \[(k+2f)(k-f)\]

thanks

OpenStudy (ash2326):

megan did you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i did, you explained it better than my teacher.

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Thanks but next time you focus on what your teacher teaches, you'd find that he/she is much better than me:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, our teacher sometimes gives us questions of things we had not learned yet and she barly explains them, and this is one of them

OpenStudy (ash2326):

megan maybe she had taught you fundamentals and wanted you to try the hard ones yourself:) next time try a problem , I'm sure you'll be able to solve it. If you get stuck head over here:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok well i have to go but thanks a lot
