the average test scores in mathematics and english for each student can be represented as an ordered pair ? a.true b.false ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

false, they are independent variables

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They technically can be represented as two independent variables; there's nothing rationally wrong with doing this. I can state the x and y components for a graph with x,y,z

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, they certainly can be placed in same graph and also you may find a strong correlation between them and for that equation you can call them ordered pairs, but the point is they can be plotted aginst each other, but can not be considered ordered pairs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Fair enough. I didn't realize "ordered pairs" carried the implication that one pair was a direct result of the other.

ok
