What is the best IDE for Python?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I personally just use vi on a linux system however I have heard good things about IDLE and Ninja

IDLE is working fine for me on windows.

If you are running a Windows machine, you may consider PyScripter. If you are running a Unix-based system, I usually prefer to do like monkeywork and go for a simple text editor (vi(m) on Linux and TextMate on OSX). I think it's basically personal preference, but give it a shot in either case :-)

I personally like Spyder, mostly because I'm used to a MATLAB type IDE.

I use emacs and vi is great to. But I am on Ubuntu so if you use Windlows I haven't a clue.
