can someone give me an example of a fraction turned to a decimal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To change a fraction into a decimal, divide the numerator (top number) by the denominator (bottom number). To change a decimal to a fraction, move the decimal point 2 places to the right (for example, .45 becomes 45) and put it over 100 (for example, 45/100). Then reduce the fraction to lowest terms.

1/2 = .5 2/5 = 2.5
