336 is the total possibilities with boys and girls. 3+5 is 8, 8 people. with three spots, the number of people who can take the first spot is 8, the second is 7 and third 6. the to find the number of possibilities without the boys, 5 girls, just the same process. 5, 4 and 3. (5*4*3)/(8*7*6) or 60/336
