Solve the equation for 0° ≤ x ≤ 90°. Round to the nearest degree. tan^2B = 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1329765647534:dw| is that your question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes it is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay it can be rewritten as |dw:1329765756874:dw| does that help?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

\[\tan B = \pm 2\] since B is between 0 and 90 just find arctan (2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

campbell is right I was just trying to lead you down that path instead of giving it to you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One thing I feel nesscary to mention is this|dw:1329765918164:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats to the negative one it cut off my drawing for some reason

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So when it says to find it to the nearest degree. You do the arctan of 2 which is 63.4349. So my anwser will be 63 degrees?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

looks like it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thanks!
