a hockey puck slides over ice with kinetic friction coefficient is 0.013. What initial speed should the puck have so it travels the 50m length of the rink?

OpenStudy (jamesj):

After the puck is launched it is constantly accelerated by the friction force, \[ F_f = -\mu N = -\mu mg = -m(\mu g) \] Hence the acceleration is \( a = -\mu g \). Now use a kinematic equation for distance of a body being constantly accelerated to find the initial velocity necessary to travel exactly 50 meters.
