Which of the following points lie in the solution set to the following system of inequalities? y < -3x + 3 y < x + 2 (1, -5) (1, 5) (5, 1) (-1, 5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

try pluging in the points into both sulotions and see if they are both right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't get it

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

Ex.) For (5, 1): x = 5, y = 1 -- insert these into your two inequalities and see what comes out y < -3x + 3 1 < -3(5) + 3 1 < -15 + 3 1 < -12 (false!) So, (5,1) is not in the solution set because it doesn't work for those inequalities.
