s(t)=-4.9t+vt+s A projectile is shot upward from the surface of Earth with an initial velocity of 120 meters per sec. What is its velocity ater 5 seconds? After 10 seconds?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[s(t)=-4.9t+v _{0}t+s _{0}\]

OpenStudy (amistre64):

derivative should give velocity

OpenStudy (amistre64):

v(t) = -9.8t + 120

OpenStudy (amistre64):

solve for t=5 and t = 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get that derivative?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i get 4.9(2)t is the derivative of 4.9t^6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but why wouldnt 120 become 0 since it is a constant?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait it would be 120t wouldnt it?
