a family began a trip of 552 miles 7 am. they arrive at their final destination at 6 pm. if they took 3 "15 min" breaks and a 45 min lunch. what was their average driving rate?

Directrix (directrix):

It looks as if the family was on the trip for 11 hours. How much of those 11 hours was spent on a break and for lunch. That should give the family's driving time?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 58.1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

552/9.5

Directrix (directrix):

I got 9.5 hours of driving time, too. Distance divided by time is average rate, I think. I see you've done that. I concur with the 58.1 miles per hour.
