Which conditional has the same truth value as its converse? A)If x = 7, then |x| = 7 . B)If a figure is a square, then it has four sides. C)If x – 17 = 4, then x = 21. D)If an angle has a measure of 80°, then it is acute.
if it's the same as it's converse... lets reverse all of them and see if they all make sense, lets start with D. An angle is acute if it measures 80° ..... but there are other acute angles that are not 80° so that's wrong. if x=21 then x-17=4 ... this is very true... so let's stop here and the answer is C
i'm agree with sasogeek. a,b,& d are wrong.the answer is c. :D
if we want to consider why B and A are wrong, here's why for B, a figure has 4 sides means it is a square... but that is soooo false! rectangles have 4 sides, kites have 4 sides, same as a rhombus and the list goes on... that that is totally wrong. now with A, |x|=7 means that x is either 7 or -7 so you cannot conclude on that, so the definite answer we're sure of will be C :)
