The amount of water that will be needed to fill the pool if the water needs to be 6 inches below the top of the pool The height is 8 feet the length is 30 feet the width is 40 feet the surface area is 1760 feet cubed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

900 ft cubed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well since you wanted to fill the up the pool with water, so that water is 6 inches below the top of the pool, the height of the water has to be 7.5 feet... now you take 7.5 and multiply it by the length and width, and you get 900 ft cubed :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wouldent it be 7.4 inches since the height is originally 8 inches but then u take 6 off it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, the height is eight feet... and there are 12 inches in a foot.. so there must be 96 inches in 8 feet... now you subtract 6 inches from 96 and get 90 inches. 90 inches is equal to 7.5 feet. :)
