If you consider the range of sin [1, -1], you know the function's range will be [3-2(1), 3-2(-1)], which is [1, 5]. The 2 in the sin's argument will have a horizontal compression effect on the sin wave, and the +45^o will cause the graph to shift to the left by pi/4.
