A triangular flowerbed is being planted inside a circular area of grass. What is the area of the entire circular region (including the flowerbed)? (Use 3.14 for π.) (Document enclosed)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The area of a circle is \[A = \pi r^{2}\]where r is the radius of the circle. According to the diagram, the diameter is 58ft. The radius is half of the diameter, so it's 29ft. Can you figure it out from there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let me try

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um like: A=(3.14)29^2 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then I solve? Or no o-o?

OpenStudy (rogue):

Yeah, thats correct, be sure to have the correct unit for the area, which is ft^2 in this case.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you both :]

OpenStudy (rogue):

Your welcome :)
