Can anyone help me please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How are thixotropic substances beneficial to us in the world?

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Thixotropic substances basically can flow easily over time, but quick changes in pressure will cause them to solidify. If you can think of anything that needs to be a lubricant but needs to resist stress, you have a decent idea of a place where they are beneficial.

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

A few fluids in the human body are thixotropic, for one thing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a few fluids like?

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

The synovial fluid -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synovial_fluid

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

There's a decent amount of information at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thixotropy on things that are thixotropic, including beneficial things.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow i didn't know that.
