how do you figure out the Q3 of a set of numbers im confused.. help??

you have 40 pieces of data. put them in order from highest to lowest (1-40).
since its an even number of data you wont have a specific middle. so take the median of data points 20 and 21 to find Q2, get a number. now with the remaining data points 22-40 and 1-19 find the median of 1-19 (Q1) and the median of 22-40 (Q3)

for the median i got 20 but after your explantion from before i think its wrong because it start from 15 which i would peg the lowest?
yes i did
yes 15 is the lowest. but after you find 20 you need to again split the data and find the median of the first half of data and the second. the first half of data is from 15-20 with the median being 18 (Q1) and the median of the second half of data is 25 (Q3) (20,20,21,21,21,22,23,24,24,25,25,26,26,26,27,29,31,33,33) is the second half of data and the median is 25
so after you find the median for the first half of the data which is 18 Q1 and the median for the second half of the data would be 25 Q3 , how would you figure out the Q2?
First you want to find the median for ALL the data, thats Q2 (20) then you split the remaining data into two parts and find the median for part one Q1 (18) and the median for part two Q3 (25)
and the lowest is 15, and the highest is 33 so your answer as a five number summary is {15, 18, 20, 25, 33}
honestly the easiest way to do this problem is to write all the data out from highest to lowest. find the median of all the data and continue from there
