Yeah, I always go through the problem step by step to know how they got the answer. I need to pass this class and I really like math. I don't know why I don't get how to do these sometimes. They seem so simple but yet again, I feel dumb not knowing how to figure them out.

x ( x^2 - 1) + 2 ( x^2 -1) = 0
(x^2 -1)( x + 2) = 0
=> x = 1, x = -2

would this be right then for this problem 2(x-4)(x-5)= 0
it would be x-4 = 0 or x-5= 0 then x=4, x=5?

In order for the whole product = 0
either each of group = 0
x - 4 = 0 ---> x = 4
x- 5 = 0 ---> x = 5
