what is meant by 32nm technology
32 nanometer I'm thinking. This is what wikipedia has to say... "32 nanometer refers to the average half-pitch (i.e., half the distance between identical features) of a memory cell at this technology level." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/32_nanometer
Is the size of for example a silicon chip processors transistors. so its saying that each transistor is 32 nano meters. get it?
so when you buy a CPU for 775 Pin . and it says at the bottom, 45nm Technology. its refering to the Size of the chip that they imprinted the design on the Silicone Waffer
I'm a little confused now, you said transistor is 32nm and then the size of the chip is 32nm. Does that mean a cpu has multiple 32nm transistors. Or a cpu is 32nm and has a number of smaller transistors?
No, Meaning that each separate component is that Nm Specified.
